I wanted to get your opinion as an Anesthesiologist or CRNA on a poll that I am conducting on benefits.  Virtually every client we call who is recruiting perceives that they have a great salary and benefit package, yet the perception of many of the candidates we call when working the order is sometimes just the opposite.

Here is a partial listing of the packages we encounter when speaking with clients across the country:  Guaranteed Salary, Incentives, OT Pay, Sign-on bonus, Vacation, CME/Education Reimbursement, Medical Insurance, Disability, Retirement, and Life Insurance, etc.

Why Do Hospitals Need Locum Tenens Providers?

The locum tenens market has experienced some levels of volatility over the past 2 years especially when broken down by specialty.  Some medical providers, who previously exclusively considered locum tenens in the past, are now considering going back to fulltime employment.  Many physicians and CRNAs have asked us, what are some ways they can make themselves the most marketable (placeable) to hospitals in need of locum tenens coverage. For the purpose of this article, the word hospital is interchangeable with medical groups, surgery centers, and physician offices that also use locum tenens coverage. We will help you to identify ways to always be at the top of your recruiter's and potential client's locum tenens provider list.

The information in this article is based primarily on the anesthesiologist and CRNA locum tenens market, so some of the information may be different for other specialties.  However many of the main points could also apply to much of the specialty-based locum tenens market.  We have highly specialized knowledge in the area of the anesthesia specialty from working with literally hundreds of hospitals and thousands of medical providers over the past 6 years in our anesthesia department.
