In our last blog entry, we discussed 2 of the ways to attract anesthesiologists and CRNAs to your permanent positions faster will continue with the last 3 in this one: Working Interview Provision, Consistency, and Responsiveness:

Working Interview Provision

Having a working interview available for the right candidate offers many advantages. First, it helps to improve retention and mitigate the risk of making the wrong hiring decision by having the opportunity to observe firsthand how the candidate interacts with your clinical and administrative staff at your facility. Second, it opens your opportunity up to a wider pool of candidates who only consider opportunities that will allow them to do a trial or working interview before accepting the fulltime position. Third, it allows the hospital an opportunity to either make a modest profit or have net zero cost, if there is enough work available, since the hospital will most likely have the ability to bill for the services rendered by the candidate.

Consistency

It is very important that the position lists the same specifications and pay everywhere the position is advertised. It is not only confusing, but also can breed distrust in the validity of the opportunity when it is being advertised at different amounts of compensation, benefits, schedule, call, etc. This stands true regardless if one ad is through a recruiter and the other is direct.

Location

Every location has its own appeal as well as candidates who would be willing to move under the right circumstances; however it is important to communicate those appealing characteristics in a way that will attract those candidates. Sometimes rural facilities have a more difficult task in attracting available candidates. In order to counteract this, you may draw attention to:

Desirable Material Facts about the Community

The more your recruiter knows about the amenities/advantages that your opportunity has to offer, the better equipped he/she will be to find an interested candidate.  Your recruiter can be your best ally in helping available candidates to know more about what your opportunity has to offer.
